Susan Roth has been working as a professional planner and architectural historian since 1992. Her experience includes municipal land use planning and zoning, historic preservation, master planning, environmental review (SEQRA) review and preparations a consulting planner. She has served as consulting planner in approximately 20 communities in New York while working with other firms. She has a bachelors in Art History/Fine Arts, a Master’s in Regional and City Planning and a Master’s in Business Administration. She became a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners in 1995..

The principal, Susan Roth has served a number of municipal Clients as a consulting planner in the Hudson Valley Region. She has provided advise to planning and zoning boards by reviewing development applications and assisting with the board’s understanding of the environmental impacts and planning implications of every application, making suggestions when needed to help the project fit better in the community. She has also lead projects designed to create special zoning that favors redevelopment of distressed or historic areas to help the community take advantage of the sense of place it can generate by enhancing its community character or assets.

Environmental Impact Statement Review and Preparation

HVPP provides professional services related to the review and completion of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) of all scales, with special expertise in New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). We provide effective project coordination to facilitate the completion of the SEQRA process for any size project

Private Development Review

Besides providing preparation of an EIS for private development, Susan Roth can help the private developer research a properties potential for development, providing a list of the pros and cons that may not be easily identified during a physical site visit. She has worked for many planning boards, and understands how communities process applications. Her expertise can help the applicant restart a stalled review process, or help to streamline a review process, achieving the goals of project approvals in a shorter timeline.

I have worked with Susan Roth in my capacity as Planning Board Chairwoman in the Town of Monroe, NY, where she served the planning board as a consulting planner.
